Video Editor

Babcox Media Inc. (www.babcox.com), an Akron, Ohio-based B2B print, digital and video media company with concentration in the automotive aftermarket, powersports, performance, collision, commercial fleet, engine building and tire industries, is seeking a full-time Video Editor.

The full-time video editor is responsible for assisting with video production, shoot planning, execution and formatting as well as the distribution of video content for our company.

Job Responsibilities (not all inclusive) include:

Assist with production of in-house video features, including:

  • Custom video direction
  • Video editorial/content planning
  • Misc. video production responsibilities as assigned
  • Setup and teardown of cameras, microphones and props.
  • Aiding in the direction of talent.
  • Organization and cleanup of equipment and studio space.
  • Editing captured audio and video into online features.
  • Acquisition of photos, videos and other images for features.
  • Export and distribution of final video files.
  • Assists with SEO and Social Media program for various publications.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in media/film production or similar.
  • At a minimum, 2 – 3 years of experience in video post-production.
  • Strong technical experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Premiere Pro and Photoshop are required. Experience with After Effects and Illustrator is preferred).
  • Demonstrable video editing ability, with attention to detail, timing, pacing and composition.
  • Audio production experience preferred.
  • Trade/industry writing experience preferred.
  • Experience with video distribution services (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.), specifically the administration of accounts on such services.
  • Experience with social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), specifically the administration of pages and accounts on such services.
  • WordPress experience a plus.
  • Ability to learn industry demographics and adapt to any changes.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Proven creative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work closely within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Computer proficient: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Mac OS X.

Multimedia Sales Representative

The full-time video editor is responsible for assisting with video production, shoot planning, execution and formatting as well as the distribution of video content for our company.

Job Responsibilities (not all inclusive) include:

  • Conveys and understands the Babcox story and executes focused, results oriented advertising and marketing communications programs on behalf of our clients (digital, video, print, data, webinar, podcast, etc.)
    Builds lasting customer relationships based upon trust and strategic thinking.
  • Serves as a key partner for our customers and is knowledgeable of customers brands, products and audiences.
  • Achieves sales goals by developing and servicing existing, new and inactive accounts; interacts in a professional and courteous manner to all stakeholders.
  • Provides expert digital counsel to clients and serves as the translator between clients and our digital team.
  • Communicates client marketing objectives to internal stakeholders in a timely manner and helps our clients make smart marketing decisions.
  • Constantly considers our expanding product mix relative to the needs of our customers and stays in continuous contact with customer to ensure opportunities are presented in a timely manner.
  • Analyzes account profitability to ensure that the customer is receiving real value and that the company is realizing a profit.
  • Responsible for ensuring digital marketing tasks are completed on time and on budget.
  • Gathers marketplace information on pricing, products, competitive advertising schedules and placements.
  • Utilizes all appropriate sales presentation tools to deliver custom developed marketing solutions to our customer in the most compelling manner.
  • Stays abreast of the calendar of key industry events and conferences and regularly attends such events.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Job Requirements:

  • Preferably, 3 to five years of proven outside sales experience and ideally in the capacity of media sales.
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Experience and familiarity with digital media sales including audience targeting, marketing automation, and social media solutions as it relates to business-to-business marketing.
  • Lead generation, lead management and Google Analytics experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining sales quotas.
  • Self-driven with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Goal driven with the ability to adapt to change regarding new opportunities.
  • Excellent presentation and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
