Manager of Market Research

The qualified candidate will be a self-starter, responsible for performing market research as well as supporting the Babcox Media sales team by delivering accurate, insightful analysis of the automotive aftermarket. This position supports clients through primary and secondary research channels; provides editorial content; gathers market data from a variety of sources and maintains a library of reports reinforcing the position of Babcox Media as the industry information source.

Essential Job Responsibilities, include, but are not limited to:

  • Researches, analyzes and reports customer, competitor and auto industry market data for use in company’s strategic planning and decision making
  • Collects, maintains and organizes industry data from multiple industry sources such as marketing associations, automotive databases, customers, suppliers, competitors and other professional contacts;
  • Researches market conditions and conducts studies to determine market demand for existing and new products or services;
  • Prepares various reports from market data and performs analysis including trends, forecasts and status reports;
  • Conducts analysis of customer satisfaction on key performance indicators;
  • Effectively presents market data to Babcox Media management team and respective clients; offering research as a solution to clients when appropriate;
  • Conducts custom strategic insights research and analysis that can be used for content development and thought leadership and competitive intelligence;
  • Collaborates with IT and data service vendors to further enhance data mining, data cleansing and data extraction efforts that directly impact analytics;
  • Maintains relationships with industry organizations such as Auto Care Association, MEMA, Polk, etc.
    Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • Identify business opportunities by analyzing customer lifestyle changes;
  • Conduct segmentation to derive actionable rules for trigger based marketing campaigns;
  • Familiarity with Market Research CRM Systems;
  • Experience creating and maintaining niche panels to increase participation in market related studies, employing creative sampling techniques to target qualified respondents;

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics or Statistics;
  • Experience in the automotive aftermarket is a plus;
  • 3-5 years of strategic marketing research experience;
  • Must possess working knowledge and experience in statistical methods and practices;
  • Must possess working knowledge and experience in mathematical calculations/techniques;
  • Working knowledge of survey research methodology; focus groups; telephone surveys, etc.
  • Experience with creating, programming, and extracting survey data from survey software platforms such as Survey Gizmo, Qualtrics, QuestionPro.
  • Ability to tell compelling and insightful stories with data;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Comfortable working with large datasets, with a strong interest in data analysis;
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team member;
  • Enthusiastic attitude to all parties and self-motivated;
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel are required; SPSS/SAS a plus.

Multimedia Sales Representative

The Multimedia Sales Representative is responsible for growing new and existing business by selling the company’s wide range of advertising for our print and digital publications, marketing, video and webinar services. The qualified candidate will have proven sales experience as well as exceptional customer service skills. Media and/or Advertising sales experience is highly preferred.


  • Preferably, 3 years of proven outside sales experience and ideally in the capacity of media sales;
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • Experience and familiarity with digital media and with social media as it relates to business-to-business marketing;
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining sales quotas;
  • Self-driven with an entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Goal driven with the ability to adapt to change to new opportunities;
  • Excellent presentation and organizational skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team;
